White House Arcade Introduces New Game Where Players Can Cover Up Epstein Files
6 SEPTEMBER 2026

WASHINGTON—Expanding its controversial online portal for retro minigames Friday, the White House introduced a new addition to its arcade lineup where players are tasked with covering up the Epstein files.

"YET EVEN MORE WINNING!" read a tweet from the White House's official X/Twitter account in part, featuring a parody animation of the PlayStation 1 loading screen flashing the words "MAGA Redaction Entertainment" instead. "Redact. Shred. Cover up. It's time to level up again, patriots. Redact, Please is LIVE NOW on the Trump Arcade! Your country and president need YOU! Share your high score in the replies below!"

"Redact, Please," according to the White House arcade website, challenges players to "redact and shred the Epstein files before time runs out." The game is a knockoff of the popular 2013 puzzle simulation game "Papers, Please" created by game developer Lucas Pope, where the player takes on the role of a border-crossing immigration officer in the fictional dystopian country of Arstotzka, reviewing paperwork against an expanding list of rules to determine who enters. In contrast, "Redact, Please" puts the player in the shoes of a Department of Justice staffer tasked with rapidly redacting or shredding documents and photos found in the Epstein files based on how severely they would harm U.S. President Donald Trump's reputation.

"To no one's surprise, Lucas Pope did not take part in the creation of ‘Redact, Please’ nor authorise or license the Papers, Please name or intellectual property to the Trump administration," said a statement from Mr. Popes production company 3309 LLC. "The fact the White House believes creating a ripoff of Papers, Please is appropriate speaks volumes about the complete lack of thought, intelligence, empathy, or humanity present in this administration. For crying out loud, the game is about a dystopian police state that maintains a hostile foreign policy and dehumanises those that are deemed as different. Would you say that reflects any real-life countries at the moment?"

At press time, the White House announced that the player with the highest score on "Redact, Please" after a week would be awarded a free, all-expenses-paid trip to Epstein island, complete with a souvenir Lolita Express flight log signed by Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
