UK Human Rights Watchdog Publishes Guidance Advising Trans People Should Just Die
MANCHESTER, ENGLAND—A year after the Supreme Court ruled that the definition of a woman does not include transgender women under the Equality Act 2010, the Equality and Human Rights Commission has published a new draft code of practice advising businesses and service providers that trans people should just die. "We know that the Supreme Court’s judgment last year, on the definition of sex in the Equality Act, increased demand for guidance. As Britain’s independent equality regulator, we don’t make the law. We provide impartial guidance to help them comply with the Equality Act. We ask that you keep this in mind, as we are about to tell you in detail how we are advising that transgender people should just give up and die in a hole somewhere they are not a burden," said EHRC Chair Dr Mary-Ann Stephenson. "Our focus has always been making sure organisations have clear, accessible guidance on how to discriminate against transgender people within the bounds of the law. I thank the EHRC for their work updating the draft code of practice, and look forward to continuing to work with them to ensure transgender people’s rights are crushed into dust across our country," said Women and Equalities Minister Bridget Phillipson. The draft guidance asks that trans people "find a way to cease existence that is quiet and requires minimum clean up by emergency services," alongside pictograms of various toxic chemicals that would get the job done if ingested. At press time, the EHRC clarified that any trans person even thinking of entering a public bathroom of any kind would be legally shot on sight by armed police.
