LONDON—In an effort to regain the support of his party following heavy losses in local elections across the nation, British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer promised to institute "Taco Tuesdays" every week in the House of Commons for Labour MPs as long as they keep him as PM. "I understand my colleagues want the best for Britain and it's people. I also understand that our recent defeats in the local elections have been a brutal wake-up call for us as a party. This is why I am promising that I will bring Taco Tuesdays to the Commons every week for Labour MPs," said the prime minister during an emergency cabinet meeting, with ministers being offered a vast array of delicious tacos and a soft drink of their choice. "I was elected by the British public on a mandate for change, and I aim to do that. This new initiative to have a weekly Taco Tuesday in the House of Commons is part of that goal for radical, forward-thinking change in the UK. But I will remind Labour MPs, you won't get those free tasty tacos from the nearby Mexican place unless you shut the fuck up and keep me as Prime Minister." Opposition parties such as the Tories and Reform both lambasted the PM's promise as "desperate," as well as demanding that Starmer include MPs from rival parties in the weekly face-stuffing of tacos. At press time, Health and Social Care Secretary Wes Streeting, who is likely to rival Starmer's leadership, criticised the PM's effort to remain in the job, stating ministers don't want "meaningless" offers like tacos, but rather Nando's.
