Release Dates For Christmas, Halloween 2026 Unveiled At Nintendo Direct
KYOTO, JAPAN—Airing its latest presentation of gaming and content information across the internet Thursday, Nintendo unveiled the release dates for Christmas and Halloween 2026 during its latest Nintendo Direct event. "Next is a beloved title. It is one that our players have looked forward to every year, and this year is no different. Please have a look," said presenter and Senior General Officer Yoshiaki Koizumi as a mashup of "Ghostbusters" by Ray Parker Jr., "Thriller" by Michael Jackson, and "Monster Mash" by Bobby "Boris" Pickett and the Crypt-Killers played over scenes of trick-or-treating and haunted houses, leading to the release date of Halloween 2026 being announced as 31st October 2026. "Next is a very adored title. It is one that players across the world anticipate highly. Please have a look," said Mr. Koizumi as scenes of snowfall, reindeer, Christmas trees, and Santa denying his elves the ability to unionise was accompanied by a rendition of "Jingle Bells" played with the Mario 64 SoundFont, subsequently followed by the announcement that Christmas 2026 will be released on 25th December 2026. The Nintendo Direct ended with Mr. Koizumi stating that Easter 2027 would be announced in the future, leading to rumours Nintendo didn't have time to run a random number generator to decide on the release date yet. At press time, reports emerged that Nintendo was considering cancelling development on No Nut November 2026.
