WASHINGTON—Causing bafflement across the world as she made a surprise address to the nation from the White House Thursday, U.S. First Lady Melania Trump denied that she has ever cheated on her husband, U.S. President Donald Trump. "The lies claiming that I have been unfaithful to my husband need to end today," said the first lady with great difficulty, continuing by saying "I met my husband, who I have always been faithful too, ​by chance at a New York City party in 1998. This initial encounter with my husband, who I will reiterate I have never cheated on, is documented in detail in my book ​Melania; in all bad bookstores now." The speech seemed to catch Mrs. Trump's own aides off-guard, with many looking around desperately for a cane to hook the first lady away from the podium. "Donald and I were invited to many parties, since overlapping in social circles is ​common in New York City and Palm Beach. I have never once went off into a bathroom stall to have a quickie with a much more attractive man behind my husbands back at any of these parties." Continuing, the first lady said "I never had rendezvouses with Epstein or his accomplice Maxwell." Following the speech, the White House was thrown into chaos, with President Trump not clarifying if he was aware of the contents of his wife's speech beforehand, proceeding to shrug and state unprompted that he never cheated on Melania with any underage girls trafficked by Epstein, but rather he cheated on the first lady with Epstein himself.
