DUBLIN, IRELAND—Having their collective faith in humanity restored Wednesday afternoon, onlookers watched as Layla Dempsey, a four-foot-nine-inch woman, heroically reached an item on the top-shelf for Hugo Murphy, a six-foot-three-inch man.

"Wow, look at that well-intentioned Samaritan!" cheered 34-year-old Sophia Kilmartin, one of the witnesses to the good deed. "The fact that she took the time out of her day to assist what is an absolute giant, it really shows you how people are still capable of being kind and empathetic towards others in this day and age."

The heroic act occurred at a local Tesco at 14:48, where Ms. Dempsey spotted Mr. Murphy browsing the dairy aisle. Without a second thought, the four-foot-nine woman selflessly grabbed a stepladder, climbed to the top shelf, and handed a confused Mr. Murphy a milk carton that he had not asked for.

"I mean, she seems like a nice person," said Hugo Murphy outside the local Tesco. "Like, I had to put the milk carton back. I wasn't looking for that personally, but it was the thought that counts, right? Plus, her stepladder was pretty neat, I've never seen one in yellow before, so that was interesting."

At press time, Layla Dempsey was spotted offering her yellow stepladder to a five-foot-ten woman so she could reach the top of a five-foot-eight shelf in a nearby Aldi.
