Farage Visits Clacton For First Time Since Last Election
CLACTON, ENGLAND—Facing mounting scrutiny over millions of pounds of undisclosed financial gifts, Reform UK Leader Nigel Farage has resigned as the MP for Clacton and announced his intention to run in the snap by-election, marking his first visit to the constituency since he won the seat in the last election. "I thought about it hard and I've decided today I will resign as a member of parliament for Clacton-on-Sea, thereby forcing a by-election," said Farage moments after entering Clacton for the first time in two years. "I've decided that the people of Clacton should be the judges of my actions, assuming, of course, they remember that I was their MP, given I didn't really come back to this shithole since I won." Locals in the constituency were bewildered Wednesday, having been under the impression that they were without an MP entirely. Residents who spoke with The Wasted Onion after being given a free Snickers bar described the realisation that Farage had been their MP for two years as "surprising," "gosh darn wild," and "the political equivalent of a jump-scare." One local fainted after being informed that Farage was somehow still in politics. "This will be a people versus the establishment by-election. It's a chance to stick two fingers up the establishment's tight rear to frankly tell them where to go and that is why I will be putting my name forward to stand in the Orkney and Shetland by-election, which I'm sure is a real place, and is having a by-election if memory serves me right." At press time, Farage was seen speaking with the locals, asking many of them what London borough Clacton is situated in.
