Democrats Just One More Consultant Away From Winning Midterms
WASHINGTON—Filling elected officials, staffers, and volunteers with hope a day before Americans head to the polls, the Democratic Party confirmed Monday that it was just one more consultant away from winning the midterms.
"The chances of a Democrat-controlled Congress and Senate are within our grasp," said House minority leader Hakeem Jeffries during a private meeting with Democratic strategists. "I just got confirmation that if we were to hire just one more consultant, we have the midterms as a guaranteed success for the party. I know many in the party have bemoaned the lackluster results this strategy, especially given the multi-million-dollar price tag, with some advocating for a stronger emphasis on grassroots campaigning. However, this proves that we were right all along; there is such a thing as a magic number of consultants who can turn the tide of elections in our favour."
It is understood that a polling firm retained by House Democrats was responsible for the figure of "just one more consultant equalling complete and utter victory at the midterms," with the experts recommending its sister-company specialising in "AI-powered, consulting-energized B2B brand-positioning fueled by multi-level marketing solutions with WordPress integration that intersects with social media optimisation" as the firm capable of tipping the party into success at the polls.
"I knew my money was going to the right place," said Harvey Atkins, a donor to the Democrats. "For years I've been donating as much as I could to get Democrats into elected office so we can bring the fight to Donald Trump and his cabal of tech-bro oligarchs. So much of it has been spent on consultants that frankly have done very little to turn the tide. It was like voters wanted to have the issues plaguing our nation handled with a level of common sense and humanity. But alas, reality has prevailed, and we are just one more contract with McKinsey away from flipping the House and Senate."
At press time, Democratic leaders confirmed that while securing the final consultant brought them within striking distance of victory, securing it would require allocating over $24 million to purchase a campaign device known simply as "the thingamajig."
